Welding inspector – CSA W178.2
Your opportunity
The focus of the Welding inspector’s role is to monitor the various aspects of the field welding program end ensure a high-quality job. A Welding inspector will be carrying out the various stages of the welding operation. The Welding inspector will be familiarized with the process of measuring and documenting welding parameters for the specific area he/she may be inspecting over.
Your key responsabilities
• Participate in training and certification of company welders and assemblers;
• Provide welding technical support in fabrication;
• Check availability and application of correct welding procedures;
• Check that induced voltage mitigation measures are employed;
• Ensure the proper grounding technique are observed;
• Monitor visual inspections on finished welds on site or shop;
• Participate in internal evaluations and audits;
• Write technical inspection reports or documentation such as test protocols and trend analyses;
• Measure product dimensions to verify compliance with specification using measurements instruments;
• Participate in non-conformance and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions;
• Write or revise standard quality control procedures
Your Capabilitie and Credentials
• 5 to 7 years industrial and/or construction experience and CSA W178.2 Welding Inspector Certification to Level 2 or 3
• Magnetic particle (MT) and penetrant (PT) certification – (an asset)
