Founded in 1953, Groupe Tremblay specializes in the design, manufacture and transformation of steel products as well as the installation of structures on site.
The company also offers complete industrial maintenance services and the production and recycling of cathode plates through its Placatech division.
Recognized for its diversified expertise, its speed of execution and its attention to detail, Groupe Tremblay responds effectively to all the needs of its customers. The 100 experts who make up the team make it a reference for large-scale projects.

An integrated service model
For structural steel projects, the path can begin with engineering and drawings, continue through fabrication and conclude with erection. Connecting these disciplines supports communication around connections, fabrication drawings, production sequences and field preparation.
Turnkey service is not a one-size-fits-all package. Scope is defined from the drawings, responsibilities, site constraints and schedule of each project.
Six divisions with clear roles
- GTI provides engineering and detailing
- Soudure JM Tremblay fabricates steel components and structures
- ISTA works in installation and maintenance
- K2 designs and installs custom scaffolding
- GT-R supplies and installs building cladding
- Placatech produces cathode plates and repairs or recycles aluminum cathodes by friction stir welding, and presents that offer through its own website
Family roots and continued evolution
The company began in an ornamental iron shop opened by Jean-Marie Tremblay in 1953. Moves, facility expansion and new areas of expertise followed the changing needs served by the organization.
That history helps explain today’s connection among shop work, technical disciplines and field operations.

Health and safety
Occupational health and safety is a central part of Groupe Tremblay’s culture. Its approach rests on training, audits and inspections, employee participation and open communication.
Community involvement
For over 25 years, Groupe Tremblay has been socially involved with various organizations and workers in its region, like Fondation du Collège – Cégep de Valleyfield and Fondation de l’Hôpital du Suroît. The chosen causes address the needs of children, health, the promotion of active living, and several other events.
Over the past few years, more than $300,000 has been donated by the company and its employees. We are proud of our involvement in the community.
